Q.1) Please introduce yourself to BloggeRoundup readers?

Thanks a lot, Ashfaq for giving me this opportunity to share my experience in your blogger Interview series. It’s a huge honor for me.

Friends, this is Santanu Debnath. A common man of this country with a common aspiration, to live a happy, healthy & purposeful life. I am an IT engineer by profession and a passionate blogger by choice.

I find myself free and expressive on my blog, as I can share everything without any fear through an article or a blog post. You can read my blog about Blogging & WordPress @ BloggingJOY.com.

Q.2) What inspired you most to start blogging?

Back in 2007, I was looking for an extra income source. At that time, I heard that people can make money online. As an individual, I always try to utilize my free time to do something meaningful.

When my friends were roaming here & there while enjoying their initial days of the job, I was looking to find some other way to generate extra income. I mostly spend time on my computer, trying to explore different options like paid to click emails, data entry jobs, etc. This type of jobs was very popular those days.

But, I ended up finding nothing. Most of them proved to be scams. I had spent some money also. However, I will not say I have wasted, as after trying them only I came to know that there is nothing like get rich quick scheme they were promising.

Anyway, finally, I discovered that people are making money from Google AdSense. And that’s what opened the door for me to get into the world of Blogging.

My biggest inspiration was ShoutMeLoud, which was on its growing age at that time. And I was one of the regular visitors of that website and started learning many things gradually.

Q.3) What are the major challenges you experienced while building BloggingJoy?

BloggingJOY.com came very late in my blogging journey. You can say that I did many experiments, failed with many blogs and after spending 10+ years as a blogger I have started BloggingJOY.

I am actually not at all facing any problem after taking this decision to make BloggingJOY a worthy place for bloggers. Although I have started this website 2 years back, but I consider the new beginning from 18th December 2018. The day I have decided to start my Facebook Group to explore a totally different blogging journey that I have never experienced.

And frankly speaking, I didn’t expect that it will surprise me with even more. I have been interacting with many awesome persons, making good friends and now understand the importance of being consistent in blogging.

BloggingJOY is building at its own pace with time, effort and lots of support from many people. I am in no hurry, as I started loving this journey and want to be a part of this forever.

But I would definitely like to point out a few key mistakes, which were stopping me to grow further. I know many people are doing the same and have never been able to cross that line.

Just making money is not everything in blogging. I was not comfortable to come in front as my income was good as a side income. I read many people shared about their 6 figure blogging income etc. But trust me, Blogging is not about six-figure income. If you have skills, then you must float that to help someone who is seeking. Money will definitely flow your way if you are able to contribute something worthy for your friends or fellow bloggers.

Like every beginner, I was never focused on a single niche. Whatever niche I liked, I have created blogs on that. Personally, I love to create & experiment, but if you have a successful blog then you can definitely do those things. You have to prove yourself in one domain first and then only you should experiment. But right now I am totally focused and trying to consolidate everything.

Networking is the key to get success in blogging. I have never tried to connect with any fellow blogger either way. Means I have never asked for any help or helped someone. As I was blogging part-time, I never took blogging that seriously. So, I was doing the same from the last 10 years before starting this FB group. Networking is a crucial component of success. You have to learn how to help others and make friends.

Q.4) What strategies/sources do you use to monetize your blog?

I have tried a couple of ways to monetize my blogs. Google AdSense, Paid Posts, Affiliate Marketing, etc. I have tried Indian Amazon affiliate as well as an experiment, and that website has given me Rs 1500-2000 per month last year. I will plan to revive that website soon.

I have a finance blog where I get sponsored posts and also generate some income from Google AdSense. But right now they are doing their best as I am not able to give enough time to that blog. But, if you have a finance blog then you will get a good amount of paid post opportunity for sure.

Affiliate marketing is the best way to make money. Right now I am trying to build BloggingJOY to target affiliate products. I am sharing the useful blogging tools that I use on my blog through reviews, deal pages & comparison with their competitors.

To get good conversion from affiliate marketing, organic traffic plays the key role. So, the best strategy is to rank articles around the buyer keywords for that product. Even if the search volume is low, the conversion will be very good if you can rank your article #1 for those keywords.

Q.5) What is the best way to get success in affiliate marketing?

As I already mentioned in the previous question, SEO plays a big role in affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is all about selling that product. So, if you know what terms people are searching before buying any product, then you can simply rank your article for those keywords.

Definitely, your article has to be conversion optimized enough, so that user can get accurate information on that page itself.

And the On-page SEO has to be 10/10 so that you can stay in ranking for quite some time. You can use any WordPress SEO plugin like Yoast SEO or RankMath to optimize your articles.

Finally, backlink matters the most. You have to build quality backlinks to your money site. If you want to experiment a short term website for a few affiliate products, then you can build any kind of links to rank that website.

I did the same and got good success last year. I was able to generate more than $5000 from that website by building only comment backlinks. I know $5000 is not a big deal, but it’s my side income :).

However, currently that website is not performing well and I don’t have enough time to grow that. It was one of my experimental websites from which I learned a lot.

So, getting success in affiliate marketing may not be that difficult. But remember, if you don’t work properly or targeting long term value you will fail quickly for sure. Many affiliate websites vanish from ranking even after giving good results, just because of bad link building, low authority and low-quality content.

Try to build a website for the long term, create your authority as an expert. E.g. ShoutMeLoud is the best example of an authority affiliate website. It took Harsh years to build this website and get authority. But right now it is making millions every single month.

But for learning, I will definitely encourage you to build at least one micro niche site or niche website and try every type of link building techniques. This will clear many of your doubts. I believe you can learn the best by experimenting yourself, there is no better way.

Even if you read Backlinko’s articles 100 times a day, until you try those methods you will never realize how exactly they work.

Q.6) Which are the 5 blogging tools you can’t live without and why?

Frankly speaking, I am not that much tool dependent. I love blogging because I love writing. I already said that, I have created many blogs on different niches and the biggest reason behind that was my hunger for writing in every niche.

But, to build a quality website and run a blog perfectly we must use professional tools. After all, it is a business and you have to keep a track of your competitors to keep your blog alive.

Personally, I use below tools to make my blogs 100% functional

Thrive Architect plugin to design landing pages

Thrive Leads plugin to build an email list

SEMrush & Ahrefs for competitor analysis

For everyday keyword research, I use Keyword everywhere extension, Ubersuggest, KWFinder free trial, etc.

I use many free tools like SmallSEOTools, SERanking, Grammarly extension, Screen capture Extension, Hunter, etc.

Q.7) How is your daily schedule? how many hours you work on your blog?

I am a workaholic person. Everyday I am sitting almost 15+ hours in front of the Desktop & Laptop. In weekdays, majority of my time goes for office work. I can hardly give time to blogging on regular days. But still, I am able to manage 1-2 hours daily.

But on the weekends, I make sure to give enough time and plan everything for next week. However, I don’t compromise all of my priorities & responsibilities. I have a very supportive family and I am thankful to the almighty for that.

Q.8) What is your goal for 2019?

My goal for 2019 is to work on my weaknesses and win over them. I am trying to interact with as many people as I can. I want to learn more to improve my knowledge. I understand the importance of authority and consistency. And that is what my top priority is.

Besides that, I want to make my Facebook group as one of the most popular groups among bloggers. This will also help to grow my blog. As soon as I am able to scale my activities for my main blog & Facebook group I will also focus on my other blogs.

Q.9) What are your favorite blogs and books?

Frankly speaking, I am not good at reading books. In fact, I am not able to follow any course as well. In my lifetime I just read 2 books beside my academics. They are Byomkesh Bakshi and Rich Dad & Poor Dad.

But that doesn’t mean, I don’t read. I read a lot of blogs and I mean it. If I have to mention a few of them, then it would be very difficult for me. But still, I would love to mention a few of my favorite SEO blogs like BloggersPassion, Backlinko, GotchSEO, Robbie Richards, etc.

You may find it funny, but I prefer to watch cartoons or read comics with my kid. I really like the power of imagination for generating content for the kids. And I don’t know why it gives me huge positive energy to think more and write more.

Q.10) What are the tips you have for new bloggers?

Well, there are a lot of things every newbie is doing that I can easily relate with myself. However, these things will not help them to grow and learn blogging.

Most of the newbie bloggers try to copy the bloggers they are following. But, this domain expects your own voice or creativity even though the topic is the same. We all are writing or sharing similar things but our style is different.

Investment in blogging is a must. I found many bloggers that they are not ready to invest and looking for free staffs only. And their excuse is they will invest as soon as they will earn money. But they never realize that, users are smart enough and competition is really very high.

Building a relationship in blogging is the most important thing. I know many people think this is all for just getting a backlink. Yes, backlink is important and you can’t get it if you don’t have a good relationship. But this is not the sole purpose. It’s all about making friends.

E.g. I made many good friends online who are interviewing me, recommending me, etc. But that is not what the purpose of this relationship. We are connected as good friends, and in every possible way, we will support each other from both sides. It can be a backlink, social shoutout, personal level support, whatever way it is.

Ultimately, I want to say that blogging is not always about just ranking a website and make money from affiliate marketing. Blogging is even more than that. If I can realize that after spending 10+ years, you will also realize the same in coming days.

Make good friends, read as much as you can and help people whenever & wherever possible. You will find an awesome motive to blog forever.

Q.11) What do you think is the best service a blogger can provide to his readers?

A blogger can provide various services through his/her blog. But for that, you really should have that skill. What I want to say is that these days due to outsourcing one can easily start a blog without any skill. Yes, you can write content with content writers, hire someone to create a website, do on-page SEO, etc.

But if you have some skills, then definitely you can offer different services like content writing, SEO services, Link building services, etc.

If you ask me, I would love to offer content writing service, blog set up & blog consultation service through my blog. I love to talk to people and I can help them to make a decision through counseling.

Q.12) How BloggeRoundup readers can stay in touch with you and any message for the blogging community here?

You can always find my on my Facebook group or write an email through my blog contact me page. In weekdays I may take some time, but you will surely get a response on the same day itself.

Q.13) What are your final words to our readers?

You are an awesome person Ashfaq and you have an amazing blog. To all your readers, I just want to say that make more friends and connect with more people. This will help you to learn more. I know there is a term called Expert, but I believe every Expert is also trying to learn something daily.

Happy Blogging!

Q.1) Please introduce yourself to Bloggeroundup readers?

Hi, I am Sufyan Shaikh. I am a part-time blogger. I am a founder of the blog – BloggingIndian which was started in 2016. In this blog, I write about SEO, WordPress and various reviews about hosting, themes and plugins. I mainly help bloggers who have just started their blogging journey by the information I provide in the blog.

Q.2) What inspired you most to start blogging?

I always had a dream to start an online income. I wasn’t knowing how to get started. I saw videos on YouTube and started blogging. In short money and help, others are my inspiration to start blogging.

Q.3) What are the major challenges you experienced while building BloggingIndian?

The major challenges I faced was hosting which I was looking for. I had tried numerous hostings like Bluehost, Hostgator, Godaddy. My blog was facing a lot of downtimes. Hence I moved my blog to Cloudways a few months back. I am quite satisfied with the quality. Another challenge I faced was the audience and recognition. I still want to build authority for my blog so that people can make the most use of it.

Q.4) What strategies/sources do you use to monetize your blog?

I monetize my blog using Affiliate Marketing by recommending products like hostings, themes, and plugins.

Q.5) What is the best way to get success in affiliate marketing?

I would say is focus on one product instead of promoting too many. Try out which channel is working best for you. It can be via SEO, SEM or SMM. Once you start focusing on 1 product you will definitely get the results.

Q.6) Which are the 5 blogging tools you can’t live without and why?

For this interview, I had the privilege of inviting Istiak Rayhan, Founder of RoadToBlogging.com.

I’d like to thank Istiak for taking the time out of his busy schedule to answer our questions.

Let’s now dive into the depth of interview with Istiak Rayhan and find out what he has to say. Are you ready?

Let’s get started!

Interview With Istiak Rayhan From RoadToBlogging

Here is the Inspirational & Insightful conversation with Istiak Rayhan. I hope you would take some inspiration from him to start your own blog.

Q.1) Please introduce yourself to BloggeRoundup readers?

Hi folks, I am Istiak Rayhan. I am a full-time blogger and an internet marketer from Bangladesh. I’ve been in blogging since 2012. So far, it’s an incredible journey.

I blog at RoadToBlogging, WPLeaders, HostLater, and a few other niche blogs. I am also involved in WordPress plugin development with my younger brother. Currently, we have two plugins – WP Coupons and Deals & Ultimate Blocks.

Q.2) What inspired you most to start blogging?

The starting part was accidental. I created my first blog to do some freelancing works. At that time, I had no idea about professional blogging. All I knew was that I could make some money via Google AdSense.

One day I discovered ShoutMeLoud and was amazed by Harsh Agrawal’s income reports. I had no idea that bloggers could make that much money only via blogging. And that was the time when I took blogging seriously. So the early inspiration came from Harsh Agrawal.

Q.3) What are the major challenges you experienced while building RoadToBlogging?

The number one challenge was the competition on blogging niche. When I started RoadToBlogging, there were already some popular blogs like ProBlogger, ShoutMeLoud, DailyBlogTips, etc.

But I was able to build a small audience around RoadToBlogging. Back then, I used to write a lot of ‘How To’ posts. While most of the bloggers were focusing on what to do, I was talking about how to do it efficiently. This actually helped me to build a good readership.

Q.4) What strategies/sources do you use to monetize your blog?

When I started blogging, AdSense was the only known monetization way to me. And I used to make a decent amount from AdSense. But when I switch from tech niche to blogging niche, I’ve discovered that AdSense is not working on blogging niche.

Then I came to know about Affiliate Marketing from Harsh’s blog. And I started adding affiliate links at RoadToBlogging. It took six months to get the first sale.

I got my first big success in 2014 when I made $1800 from a single affiliate program in a month. After that, I started making a good amount of money from affiliate marketing.

Till now, our main source of income comes from Affiliate Marketing. Now we are trying to diversify the income by entering into WordPress plugin business.

Q.5) What is the best way to get success in affiliate marketing?

It’s tough to say one way as the best way. It actually differs from niche to niche. What works on blogging niche might not work on technology niche.

But for me, the most important thing is to understand the buyers’ intents. It’s not about finding the profitable keywords, it’s about proving what readers need.

Q.6) Which are the 5 blogging tools you can’t live without and why?

Todoist: I use this tool to manage my day to day tasks. I’ve tried many to do list app, but this is the only one that I can stick with.

Trello: As I am running several projects at a time, Trello helps me to keep me tracking everything from a single dashboard.

Grammarly: As English is not my first language, I often make mistakes while writing English. Grammarly helps me to keep my writings error-free.

Canva: I am not a graphic designer. But I need to design quick graphics sometimes. Canva makes it insanely easier for me.

Ultimate Blocks: I use Ultimate Blocks to make my every blog post engaging.

Q.7) How is your daily schedule? how many hours do you work on your blog?

I wake up very early in the morning. I try to start work at 7 am. And I continue to work till 1 PM without taking any significant break. Then I take a break for prayer and launch. And after taking some rest, I start my work again. And continue till 4:30 PM. I try my best to complete all the tasks assigned for the day within 6 PM.

So I work 6 – 8 hours every day.

Q.8) What is your goal for 2019?

In 2019, my main goal is to make Ultimate Blocks the best Gutenberg plugin for bloggers.

Q.9) What are your favorite blogs and books?

My favorite blogs are BloggingWizard, Backlinko, ShoutMeLoud, Kinsta Blog, MasterBlogging, and few others.

And my favorite books are Rework, The One Thing, The Power of Habit, Getting Things Done, etc.

Q.10) What are the tips you have for new bloggers?

Here are some tips for new bloggers:

Be real. You don’t need to start a blog on making money online when you haven’t made any penny yet. Start with something that you know and passionate about.

Don’t try to imitate what professional bloggers are writing or doing. They are on a different stage. You don’t need to start selling ebooks or courses just because other bloggers are doing so.

And finally, be patient. Blogging takes time. It’s not a get-rich-quick scheme.

Q.11) What do you think is the best service a blogger can provide to his readers?

Understanding the pain points of readers and solving them.

How BloggeRoundup readers can stay in touch with you and any message for the blogging community here?

You can connect me on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.

And here’s the message for the blogging community – Be the community you want to have.

Q.12) What are your final words to our readers?

Become part of the blogger communities. Read other blogs and connect with other bloggers. And of course, read the BloggeRoundup blog.

Cheers!,

Interview With Kulwant Nagi From BloggingCage

Here is the Inspirational & Insightful conversation with Kulwant Nagi. I hope you would take some motivation from him to create money making blog.

Q.1) Please introduce yourself to Bloggeroundup readers?

Hello BloggeRoundup readers, it feels amazing to interact with the new audience so I am happy to be here.

I am from a very small town Fatehabad from Haryana. I have completed bachelors in 2010 with a BE degree in Electronics and Communication. I wanted to go to the USA for the higher education so I cleared GRE and TOEFL exams with 1300/1600 and 99/120 score respectively.

Soon I found that my father didn’t have the money to afford the fee so I had to quit my plan and I started my first job in December 2010 as a VLSI verification engineer.

Soon I got frustrated with the job and resigned it in June 2011.

This was the time when I was totally clueless about what I am going to do in my life.

From June 2011 to September 2011, I spent 3 months reading endless blogs and learnt about blogging.

In September 2011, I launched KulwantNagi.com and later in January 2012 I launched BloggingCage.com

Now BloggingCage is one of the top blogs in India and it is helping people worldwide with the awesome content.

Q.2) What inspired you most to start blogging?

A peaceful life was always the biggest motivation for me.

I knew that it’s possible when you have enough money in your pocket. I could give a better life to my family with the money as well as have a better life for myself too.

So the second motivation was money.

Q.3) What are the major challenges you experienced while building BloggingCage?

The major challenge was my internet speed.

I know that no one will help you in your starting days, so I cannot say that finding the right support or right mentor was the biggest struggle for me.

I knew that if I want to see the success in blogging, I will have to have the patience, learning attitude and self-motivation to become a good blogger.

So I was putting best efforts to make my blog successful.

Q.4) What strategies/sources do you use to monetize your blog?

Right now my main income source is affiliate marketing. I have partnered with various companies and I make money by promoting them.

Q.5) What is the best way to get success in affiliate marketing?

It all starts with great niche ideas. Once you find the right niche, then it comes to keyword research.

The best way to get success in affiliate marketing is your smartness to find the right keywords. Affiliate marketing is nothing without your understanding of the keywords.

Q.6) Which are the 5 blogging tools you can’t live without and why?

Skitch – This is a Mac App which is used to take the screenshots. All the screenshots you see in my blog posts are taken with this tool.

EverNote – This is my all-time favorite App to jot down all the content writing ideas, making notes, saving important files and managing many things.

Trello – I love this App more than anything. This App has made my content writing, guest blogging, email outreach so easier that I cannot think about doing guest blogging without this App.

PhotoShop – I love playing with the PhotoShop. I create all my graphics myself. All the featured images you see at BloggingCage are created by me with Photoshop.

Grammarly – Oh Man!! This one small App has added so much value in my blogging journey that I cannot deny the fact that I cannot even write without this now. It corrects all my mistakes and helps me write better content.

Q.7) How is your daily schedule? how many hours do you work on your blog?

My daily schedule is not fixed these days. I usually get up at 8:00 AM, have breakfast, take the bath and start my work around 10:30 or 11:00 AM.

I spend most of my time in doing the research, spying my competitors and getting the ideas to write better content on my niche blogs.

Right now I am putting around 8-10 hours in my work.

Q.8) What is your goal for 2019?

I have achieved all my big goals in 2018.

I wanted to deliver an international Speech, which I did in April 2018 in Vietnam where I shared the stage with Neil Patel.

I wanted to travel to the USA, which I did in July 2018.

So from the goals point of view, I don’t have many goals now. But yeah, I am looking forward to growing BloggingCage’s reader base and start a YouTube channel soon.

Q.9) What are your favorite blogs and books?

My favorite blogs are Backlinko.com and NeilPatel.com.

My all-time favorite book is ReWork. Other books I love the most are The $100 Startup, The E-Myth Revisited, Who Moved my Cheese, Predictably Irrational and Eat That Frog.

Q.10) What are the tips you have for new bloggers?

The best tip I can give to all newbie bloggers is, focus on one niche.

Rather than writing for so many niches in one blog, focus on writing in one niche and be the master of it.

Q.11) What do you think is the best service a blogger can provide to his readers?

The in-depth content.

Write awesome content which they love to read and share.

Q.12) How BloggeRoundup readers can stay in touch with you and any message for the blogging community here?

You can email me at kulwant@bloggingcage.com, Follow me at Twitter @kulwantnagi and Instagram at @kulwantnagi.

Q.13) What are your final words to our readers?

I would suggest you to keep putting efforts to learn more. Don’t focus on the money part in your initial days of blogging. The money will come automatically if you learn how to build an awesome blog.

Success in blogging takes time. So don’t expect any results in 2-3 or even 6 months.

I will take a year to understand the basics and then master the skills step-by-step.

Once you learn the basics, success in blogging is easy.

Cheers!,
Kulwant Nagi

Q.1) Please introduce yourself to Bloggeroundup readers?

Thanks a lot, Ashfaq for having me on your blog.

My Name is Anil Agarwal, a full-time blogger from Gurgaon (Haryana).

I’m the guy behind Bloggers Passion blog which I started in 2010.

With Bloggers Passion, I’m trying to help a newbie as well as experienced bloggers in taking their blog’s traffic and revenue to the next level. With continuous efforts, I was able to take my blog traffic to 1.3 Million page views and revenue to $106,000 plus in 2018. You can know more in detail about the same here.

Apart from Bloggers Passion, I recently started a web hosting related solutions project at HostingMonks.com which focuses on providing the best deals around hosting besides in-depth unbiased hosting related reviews.

Q.2) What inspired you most to start blogging?

I was inspired by the success of big blogging guys like Darren Rowse from Problogger.com and Amit Agarwal from Labnol.org.

But when I started, I never thought, I will be able to reach to a level where I’m today. Best thing I like about blogging is, you can do it while being in your comfort zone and the potential is really huge (There are some bloggers who are able to make even six-figure income from their blogs every month).

Once you start making a decent income from your blogs, it ultimately gives you enough motivation to work even harder to grow your blog.

Q.3) What are the major challenges you experienced while building Bloggers Passion?

Since we started Bloggers Passion in 2010, that was a long time back, so we experienced lots of challenged and I would say changes we need to make as well during this journey.

During the first few years, we were writing very short contents and were not doing any kind of keyword research at all.

When we started, we were accepting guest posts, but soon we realized, the quality people are providing through guest posts was not top notch. So we stopped accepting guest posts even from top guys in the blogging industry.

Since we are heavily dependant on Google search traffic, so we have to make lots of adjustments at content and backlinks level while trying to keep Google animals happy.

For the last three years, I would say, we happen to do keyword research for every new topic we work on and try to target some keywords in old posts as well while updating them.

On BloggersPassion, we have 900 plus blog posts, out of which we are currently indexing 350 only. For the rest, we either deleted, redirected or no-indexed them. Lots of them were contributed by guest bloggers and a few of our own (which we did in the starting years of our blog) as well.

Since 85% of our traffic from Google search, so we are relying heavily on Google traffic. To diversity that, we are trying our hands on other channels as well (Facebook Groups, Pinterest and Quora to name a few).

Email marketing is one channel we have been trying for some time now without much success. I think we need to learn more about this channel.

There are two more challenges (video blogging and paid advertising) we will need to overcome in the coming days to diversify our traffic and revenue sources.

Q.4) What strategies/sources do you use to monetize your blog?

Most of our revenue comes from affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing, we are paid a commission for every sale which is generated through our affiliate links.

We are selling web hosting, WordPress themes & plugins, and SEO related affiliate products to our readers through our blog, social channels and through emails.

Q.5) What is the best way to get success in affiliate marketing?

Only promote high-quality products to your audience. You should try the product before making a decision about promoting to your audience. Don’t pick a product just because their payouts per sale are really high.

Once you have made a decision about a few products matching your blog niche, it’s time to write contents sharing problems faced by people and how those products can solve their problems.

Q.6) Which are the 5 blogging tools you can’t live without and why?

The 5 of my most favorite blogging tools are:

SEMrush: Most of my SEO needs are fulfilled by this SEO tool.

Drip: for sending email newsletters to my list. There are lots of automation options available.

CrazyEgg: for better conversions and more engagement.

Ahrefs: to verify traffic metrics in some cases (it’s also a great alternative to paid tools like SEMrush)

Moz: to check DA, Spam links and highest authority pages on a website etc.

Q.7) How is your daily schedule? how many hours you work on your blog?

From Monday to Friday, I try to give 6 to 8 hours to my blogging efforts.

6 AM to 6:15 AM – checking emails (marking the ones I need to reply), sales and traffic stats

6:15 to 8:30 AM – Kids school related activities

11:30 AM to 3 PM – Blogging related activities

3 PM to 4: 30 – Lunch and 30 minutes walk

4:30 to 7:30 PM – back to blogging

10-15 min again towards the end of the day to check everything

I don’t work much (1-2 hours if I get time) during the weekends as I happen to be busy with offline activities.

Q.8) What is your goal for 2019?

I have set some blogging goals for 2019, which I’m trying to achieve:

Taking Bloggers Passion revenue to $150,000 (from $106,000 in 2018)

Increase Bloggers Passion total traffic to 2 Million pageviews

Build an active list of 5K email subscribers

Get more success with our Facebook Group and Quora efforts (Through not chasing any specific numbers here because engagement matters more)

I will not be surprised if we get some success with web hosting solutions related project towards the end of this year.

Q.9) What are your favorite blogs and books?

You will be surprised to know I haven’t read a single book since completing my education in 2004. Recently I purchased ‘The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment’, but haven’t managed to open it (due to time and my own habits).

I happen to be on a few blogs from time to time, which I’m sharing below:

Seroundtable and SearchEngineLand to keep a check on latest Google algos

Backlinko blog for SEO related help

SmartPassiveIncome to learn more revenue sources and tools I can give a try

Q.10) What are the tips you have for new bloggers?

Blogging is not a get rich scheme. You are not going to become rich overnight with blogging. It took me almost 9 years to go from 0 to $100,000 a year.

You need to put continuous efforts for a couple of years at least if you want to get success with your blog. So don’t give up, keep learning and implement the learnings on your blog.

Q.11) What do you think is the best service a blogger can provide to his readers?

By helping them get rid of the obstacles they are facing in their blogging journey. Those obstacles can be:

They are not getting any traffic to their blogs. You need to advice in a way they are able to build some traffic at least on their blogs to keep their motivation high.

Another big problem lots of bloggers face is monetization. You can educate them about working monetization methods through your blog contents.

If you are really good in coding, you could help them with the technical issues they are facing on their blogs.

Q.12) How BloggeRoundup readers can stay in touch with you and any message for the blogging community here?

You can connect me on Facebook here and on Twitter here. if you have any question related to blogging, you can ask the same in our VIP Group on Facebook. You can also email me at info@bloggerspassion.com if needed.

Q.13) What is your final words to our readers?

If you want to get success with your blog, try to understand what top bloggers in your niche are doing and try to implement all of your learnings on your blog. Tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Moz can help you in understanding your competitor websites in a better way.

Try to analyze the impact of your actions. And keep improving your strategy by the time you haven’t achieved your goal.

Welcome to another edition of the BloggeRoundup Interview Series where I feature Inspirational stories and blogging advice from successful bloggers and digital marketers.

For this interview, I had the privilege of inviting Akshay Hallur, Founder of BloggingX.com.

I’d like to thank Akshay for taking the time out of his busy schedule to answer our questions.

Let’s now dive into the depth of interview with Akshay Hallur and find out what he has to say. Are you ready?

Let’s get started!

Interview With Akshay Hallur From BloggingX

Here is the Inspirational & Insightful conversation with Akshay Hallur. I hope you would take some motivation from him to start your own blog.

Q.1) Please introduce yourself to Bloggeroundup readers?

Hi, I’m Akshay Hallur, a professional blogger, digital marketer and a trainer. I’ve been in this blogging and digital marketing field from 2013.

I’m the founder of BloggingX, InfoSparkle and many other online ventures.

On BloggingX, I provide you with actionable strategies to growth-hack your blogging excellence even in the most saturated niches. I mainly help other content marketers and bloggers to succeed in authority blogging.

Q.2) What inspired you most to start blogging?

When I was in high schools, I was good at communication. I often stood first in essay-writing and debates.

Later…

When I was first introduced to the internet, I used to wonder who created the content you find on Google. I then found out that it’s the bloggers who create content.

I felt that blogging would be a dream hobby as I loved writing, and the concept of writing for the betterment of the internet sounded fascinating to me.

My passion for writing inspired me the most to start blogging.

Q.3) What are the major challenges you experienced while building BloggingX?

As you may know, BloggingX was formerly GoBloggingTips. I later migrated it to BloggingX. When I was building this blog, the first challenge for me is to cut thru the fierce competition in the “blogging” niche.

It took me well over a year to start earning money from my blog, when it was started in 2014.

I didn’t quit as I had an extreme passion for blogging. That passion paid off well.

Q.4) What strategies/sources do you use to monetize your blog?

When I first began blogging, I started many blogs in hope to monetize them with Google AdSense. Unfortunately, most of them got penalized.

After that, I realized the importance of affiliate marketing.

I decided to start an authority blog around a niche and that gave birth to BloggingX (formerly GoBloggingTips).

The main monetization for BloggingX is affiliate marketing. Apart from that a good chunk of my income also comes from sponsored content, training, and also Amazon affiliate marketing.

Q.5) What is the best way to get success in affiliate marketing?

Authenticity and transparency are the best ways to succeed in affiliate marketing.

You need to wear the shoes of your audience and genuinely help them make the purchasing decision.

Before marketing any product, educating the prospect buyers is very important. Educating them about the benefits, features, competitors, and also the downsides of the product is very important.

Would you expect any stranger to buy a product from you when walking on the streets? No right?

It’s the same in the online world. You need to first connect, educate and then pitch.

Q.6) Which are the 5 blogging tools you can’t live without and why?

The 5 of my most favorite blogging tools are:

Ahrefs

Page builder (Elementor or Thrive Architect)

Notion (not particularly a blogging tool)

Google Docs

My Mac machines

Q.7) How is your daily schedule? how many hours you work on your blog?

I wake up at 7 a.m, do some stretchings in sunlight, and meditate. After completing my daily routines, I head over to work at 10.00am and work until 6.00pm.

After it, I head over to the gym in the evening.

After that, I may get an hour to work on my blogs, read some books and sleep at like 11-12ish.

On a typical day, I work 9-10 hours on my blogs.

Q.8) What is your goal for 2019?

To grow BloggingX to be the best destination to learn blogging atleast in India.

Q.9) What are your favorite blogs and books?

My favorite blogs are Backlinko and Detailed.

My favorite books are Awaken the Giant Within, Thinking Fast and Slow, Cashvertising, Rich Dad Poor Dad, etc.

Q.10) What are the tips you have for new bloggers?

For new bloggers, I strongly suggest you to do authority blogging, instead of starting multiple micro-niche blogs.

Treat blogging as a business, and it’ll treat you back like that. Never settle for mediocrity whether it’s mediocre content or mediocre goals.

Refer this video for more insights -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAB2NTp5Yl0

Q.11) What do you think is the best service a blogger can provide to his readers?

Best service to give as a blogger is to properly educate your audience regarding the various problems they’re facing. You need to adapt a problem-solving attitude instead of being just a marketer.

Q.12) How BloggeRoundup readers can stay in touch with you and any message for the blogging community here?

Readers can follow my blog BloggingX.com to get insightful and actionable strategies when it comes to blogging. They can email me anytime at akshay@bloggingx.com. They can also tweet me at @akshayhallur.

Q.13) What is your final words to our readers?

Set a goal in your blogging journey. Because, for any journey, goal is very essential. It’ll be the most important decision you’ll ever make.

Make sure that the goal you set is S.M.A.R.T and not mediocre.

Always follow authority blogging, and have a clear vision where you’ll like to be 5 years down the lane, and work towards it. Don’t settle for short-term gains.

For this interview, we had the privilege of inviting Ankit Singla, Founder of BloggerTipsTricks.com.

We’d like to thank Ankit for taking the time out of his busy schedule to answer our questions.

Let’s now dive into the depth of interview with Ankit Singla and find out what he has to say. Are you ready?

Interview With Ankit Singla From BloggerTipsTricks & MasterBlogging

Q: Please introduce yourself to BloggeRoundup readers?

I am a Blogger from India. I have been blogging for 9 years. I started blogging in my college days and today it is my full-time profession that allows me to make money online.

The best thing is, not only I make money blogging but I also help others do the same by sharing my blogging experiences and learnings on two of my blogs BloggerTipsTricks.com and MasterBlogging.com.

If you are new to blogging, consider reading my blogs for some actionable blogging tips.

Q: What inspired you to start BloggerTipsTricks?

I started my blogging journey on Google’s blogging platform Blogger.com. After running my blog on blogger for almost 4 years, I had learned so many ways to operate the platform. I wanted to help others to learn the platform in the easiest possible way. That’s why I started BloggerTipsTricks.com

Q: What is your life mantra?

You should never stop learning. No matter how well you are doing in your life, career or profession. You should keep learning so that you can serve the community.

Help others to grow because what goes around comes around.

Q: What are your income sources? How much do you make every month at an average?

As I am a full-time blogger, the major chunk of my income comes from my blogs only through affiliate marketing.

I run a few YouTube channels as well that also contribute in my online income which is quite enough to run my businesses on autopilot.

Q: Which revenue source do you think is the most effective for bloggers/marketers?

I have tried using Google Adsense on blogs, publishing sponsored posts, providing services, running YouTube channels and all are a great way to make money online.

But out of all, my favorite is Affiliate Marketing. The reason is, once your content is up and performing well, it sells for you on autopilot which gives the best ROI. And the best thing is, Affiliate income is mostly Passive and sometimes recurring too.

Product creation is also one of the best ways to make money from your blog and increase the RPV (Revenue Per Visitor). A good friend of mine Deepak Kanakaraju from DigitalDeepak.com has made his online empire through product launches only.

Q: Which blogging tools do you use the most and would like to recommend as well?

There are many tools I use but few tools I can’t do blogging without are Ahrefs, Thrive Leads and ActiveCampaign. To know about all the tools I use, check out my blogging tools page.

Q: What’s your SEO tip to stay on top?

Write the content that serves user intent and promote it to gain backlinks. Use 80/20 rule. Spend 20% of your time in writing the content and 80% of your time in promoting it.

Remember off page and on page both are necessary to get the coverage your blog deserves. Follow these On Page SEO techniques and for off page mainly focus on social media promotion and outreach to get backlinks.

Q: Which are the countries you usually target through your content marketing efforts?

I try to go global but most of my traffic comes from India and United States only.

Q: Do you offer any training programs? If yes, on what topic?

I started giving paid training on Blogging including Affiliate Marketing a few months back only. Still working with my first batch.

Q: Are you into vlogging? What has been your experience so far?

Not much. I started doing it almost a year back, gained 5K subs on my YouTube channel as well but the ROI was too less compared to Blogging. So I stopped doing it. But planning to start it again in the coming future.

Q: What plugins do you use for your blog?

Basic plugins like Yoast, VaultPress, W3 Total Cache, Thrive Leads, Social Warfare, and few more.

Q: Share a quote that inspires you the most.

Success comes with experience and experience comes with bad experiences.

So, never stop yourself just because you got a bad experience. It will become the biggest reason of your success in future.

My Real Life Example: Joining a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) company back in 2009 was the biggest mistake of my life but it is the only reason I came to know about Blogging.

Welcome to another edition of the BloggeRoundup Interview Series where we feature stories and business advice from successful bloggers, marketers, and entrepreneurs.

For this interview, we had the privilege of inviting Arbab Usmani, Co-founder & CEO of UppSkill.

We’d like to thank Arbab for taking the time out of his busy schedule to answer our questions.

Q: Please introduce yourself to BloggeRoundup readers?

My name is Arbab Usmani and I am Co-Founder and CEO of UppSkill. My hometown is Muzaffarpur which is a small town in Bihar. I grew up in Jamshedpur did my basic schooling from there then did my 12th from my Hometown Muzaffarpur, got 229 rank in Odisha Jee and joined ITER in Mechanical engineering stream in Bhubaneshwar. My first job was in Chennai then I move to Coimbatore from then I moved to Kolkata stay there for a long time, did some incredible work there and moved to Delhi to face harder challenges on my niche.

I am a true believer of community and humanity, hate people who stereotype people based on their region, religion, caste, the color of skin, gender, sexual orientation.

I am also an avid reader and read lots of book based history, arts, religion, science etc.

Q: What inspired you to start UppSkill?

To understand this we have to understand some data, there are many reasons to start UppSkill, I cannot list all of them otherwise this interview itself will become very long. So here is the data

We thing dropout is a sexy word especially when it comes to startups but in reality it is not as sexy as it looks because data suggest that almost 70% of students drop out in India because they are poor, they do not have access to school or they have family burden only 30% goes to the higher education and in those profession degree data suggest that 84% of people are not employable because they lack skill. This is the area where Uppskill comes and train people real industry level high-quality skills so they can have a job or use it in a business with proper practical knowledge of the subject. We started from “Digital Marketing masterclass” because it is my area and I have to spend a good amount of my life in it and for me, it is now a lifestyle rather than a work this is one of the reasons we have started this

Another reason is there are lots of training company in the industry and lots of them are making huge money but how many of them are actually making an impact on the ground, how many of them are actually making honest promises. There are lots of scam going on in the name of training and it’s not a myth, almost every blogger knows it.

Why when someone asks that “ he wants to learn Hadoop.” he will get the name of many training institutes but when it comes to digital marketing, people either abuse or ask to do self-learning or to do an internship? this is because we as an ecosystem of digital marketing training have so many failed and scam case study from the past few years that people lost trust in them. There is valid reason for this and people should be pissed on how the careers have been ruined, my heart cries for those people who spend their valuable time and money behind gimmicks and learn nothing. This is the very reason we talk about only the skills nothing else.

Let’s talk about what we feel is wrong with the industry

Do a practice today if you are in a big city in each street there is a digital marketing institute just go to their website (take a sample size of 10) and see the content structure especially the course, apart from theme color you will even find order is same.

Institute talks about just because you take admission you will get 15 certificates from Google and Facebook ( yes the same certificates which are sold at 70Rs per certificate in Facebook group), first thing first just because you are taking admission and getting a certificate does it holds any value? 2nd thing is the training institutes are authorized by Google and Facebook to give the certificate and that too bulk of them? 3rd the certificate is designed for a working professionals who have worked in the field, I am talking about real work on the field not some 4 hours a week instructor lead work. The integrity of these certificates was murdered by those institutes. And how they do it – either they provide a dump of questions to their students or they themselves give exams. This is now how you build talent and this is wrong. But this is a good gimmick and work.

Same goes for “premium partner of Google” tag, I will not say much about it but you can Google “how to become the premier partner of Google” without quote and understand yourself.

There are many other gimmicks which actually works and one of the reason is our own greed of getting so many things in that much money, instead of getting only quality thing, there is a demand hence there is a supply but here is what is wrong in this mentality according to me, I believe teaching is a noble job and hence a very very responsible job, I believe the responsibility toward the society of a teacher equals to the doctor, doctor save life and teacher make life.

The difference between education and other business is that in education you will have a part of your teacher within you till you are alive. We are very much reflecting what we learned from our teacher and this thing the training institutes do not understand, the relationship between a teacher and a student is eternal, and even in our Shastra it is written if you see God and teacher then touch feet of teacher first, this is the level of respect we Indians gives to our teacher and a teacher have a big responsibility toward his/her students.

Another reason is that we want to see “New India” but only “want to see” is not enough we have to work our ass off to make New India, no leader is going to make New India, it me and you and thousands of youth like us who are going to make New India, so instead of cringing over bad condition of India, move your ass and work for making it better.

Q: What is your life mantra?

The best revenge is: Kill them with success and bury them with the smile.

But the main Mantra is: let’s together Uppskill each other

Q: What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

No gimmicks pitch, it’s hard to convince people when they compare education as aaloo pyaaz. But what we believe is that honesty is the best and most connecting things we can say to anyone, at least we can sleep at night while thinking about the honest work we did.

Q: How did you overcome those challenges?

With logic, educate people about it and also show them what we can do, we have lots of success stories with us and it is increasing day by day.

Q: What are your 5 favorite blogs?

Moz blog for SEO

Backlinko for SEO

PPC hero for paid marketing

Analytics Vidya for Analytics

Jon Loomer for Facebook Marketing

Q: Which online tools/ services/ apps do you use the most and would like to recommend as well?

There are many

I absolutely love Promo republic ( I call it canva on steroid) and content studio for social media

SE Ranking is another Good tool for SEO audits and Rank tracking with so many other features

Lumen5 for video

Of course Ahrefs link explorer

These all are paid

In free

Mozbar

Link parser for finding do follow and no follow

We developed a tool for SEO guys which will be forever free ( right now it is in beta version and we need to remove some queries and add some more) – http://uppskill.com/tools/, I use it a lot nowadays to find links

Zapier for automation

Basically, I use more than 100 tools for the different area of digital marketing, different purpose, different tools.

Q: What’s your SEO tip to stay on top?

2 Tips

Rankbrain is expanding and it will expand more, earlier it was a saying that spends 80% time in the promotion and 20% time in creation, it is reversing, spend more time in creation as well, around 65-70% of the time in promotion and rest is the creation and in coming years it will become 50-50.

Think beyond your SEO, suppose someone lands in your ranked page then what? What action should he take if it is not clear then there is no meaning of optimizing and putting your hard work behind SEO.

Q: What are your plans for next 5 years?

In the next 5 years I want to set up a university which will be based on skills means you do not have to study and write papers instead you will have to show what you can do in a closed surveillance wala room, and the marks will be based on what you have created or done using your skill ( by skill it will not be only about Digital marketing, be it painting, automobile, poetry, videography, machine learning or anything else )

Q: Share a quote that inspires you the most.

#RuknaTohHaiHiNahi

Check out here about UppSkill and to grow your digital marketing career, visit their website.

Welcome to the very first interview in the BloggeRoundup Interview Series. This interview series will feature stories and business advice from successful bloggers, marketers, and entrepreneurs.

For this interview, we had the privilege of inviting Mohammad Atyab (@atyab), founder of ZoConvert. ZoConvert is one of the most popular facebook messenger bot builders.

A big thanks to Atyab for taking the time to answer our questions.

Q: Tell us a bit about ZoConvert.

Today more than one billion people communicate via Facebook Messenger. Facebook allows businesses to reach these people. ZoConvert was launched last year with a goal to empower marketers to create powerful Facebook chatbots. With this goal in mind, the feature list of ZoConvert has been increasing day by day.

Q: What kind of problems does ZoConvert solve for businesses?

We aim to solve one big problem for various businesses – marketers with little or no coding knowledge, should be able to garner the power of chatbots. Till now chatbots were considered as a thing for geeks and programmers only but we are looking to revolutionize the ecosystem by enabling everyone to build a bot. Astonishing it might sound, our first user (after the QA of course) was my Father and It gave me great pleasure to see how he was able to build his first chatbot.

You will be surprised to know that all of our features, even the product’s inception, has been done after constant discussions and feedback loops with our users, agencies, and promoters.

Q: It’s a common notion that chatbots are mainly used for customer-facing experiences like navigation, customer support and more. Can bots be used for automating internal aspects of a business?

Chatbots are becoming powerful day by day. From lead generation to taking orders and payments from your customers, everything is possible from the bots. As far as internal aspects of businesses go, it is absolutely possible to manage them using chatbots. The cases may vary from getting new leads and managing them, zapier integrations, teams talking to each other using chatbots made on facebook workplace and so. If you see the e-commerce sector, the game is changing for order management, logistics management and a lot is being made possible through chatbots. Similarly, HR can use chatbots for various purposes like internal communications, FAQs for employees etc. I am definitely writing a blog on this topic soon.

Q: What new products and features can we expect from ZoConvert in the near future?

Like I said we would be adding more and more features at the fastest pace possible.

Shopify and WordPress plugins coming next.

AI setup would be up in a couple of weeks.

NLP and AI is the next big thing we at ZoConvert are focusing on.

More lead generation tools and Audience Builders are coming up.

The beauty with ZoConvert is that we don’t limit features in the free quota, therefore anyone can try out any feature without worrying about switching to a paid plan.

Also, we have https://zoflow.io, where landing page bots can be created super easily. Along with that, we are diligently working on WhatsApp bots and marketing.

We will keep the blog updated, follow us at : [https://blog.zoconvert.com]

Q: It’s a popular phrase that ‘AI is the future of digital marketing.’ Can you share your views on the subject?

As we move ahead AI is going to become a major part of our lives. We have begun to see more automated and increasingly sophisticated chatbots. It’s going to be a strong arm race as who uses AI in the best possible manner in the world of digital.

Q: Where do you see ZoConvert five years from now?

The previous answers prove that there is a tremendous opportunity for ZoConvert to make industry-specific solutions be it E-Commerce, Real Estate, Gaming, and what not. Five years from now, we would have built a large family of business owners and agencies. Right now we are building a community where we work on the suggestions given by the people who are actually facing real-life problems and we help them get them through. This experience has been exciting for all of us and we are going to continue that. My long-term visions have got ICO and IPO documented but let’s take one step at a time ?.

Q: If you could only give one incredibly valuable advice to upcoming business owners, what would it be?

Never hesitate in trying out new technologies. Try to be ahead of the game by imbibing your business with new ways to reach out to new customers, lead generation, retention. Say for example messenger marketing is still a new feature and there is widespread adoption of chatbots and messenger marketing. There is an immense opportunity for the business owners, agencies and for the customers too.
